Description	:	Adrian M. Mellenbruch, 82, formerly of the Morrill-Fairview area, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at the VA Hospital in Wichita, where he had been a patient for 10 days. Mr. Mellenbruch was born in Morrill Feb. 11, 1921, to John and Effie Smith Mellenbruch. He grew up in this area and attended Hiawatha High School. Mr. Mellenbruch was born in Morrill Feb. 11, 1921, to John and Effie Smith Mellenbruch. He grew up in this area and attended Hiawatha High School. He served with an Army military police platoon during World War II. He received the Purple Heart before being discharged with rank of Corporal. On June 1, 1946, he married Edith Schneider. They later divorced. After the service, he returned to the area and farmed and raised livestock in Brown and Nemaha counties. He retired in 1974. For the past few years, he was a resident of the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Fairview.
