Schoep, who was among the first residents of Sioux county, died at the Holland Home in Sheldon Friday afternoon. Funeral services were held at Central Reformed church, Sioux Center Monday afternoon and interment was in the local cemetery. Mrs. Schoep has been a resident of Sioux Center during her later years until two and one half years ago, when she went to the Sheldon home for elderly people. Ann Vander Linden was born in the Netherlands March 10th, 1844, and came to this country as a child. The family settled at Pella. She was a sister of the late Nicholas Vender Linden, and Mrs. Dirck Gleysteen, both early settlers of Alton, and Mrs. Arie Kuiper of Pella. She was married at Pella to Wm. Bomgaars and the couple came to Alton where they lived for some years, Mr. Bomgaars having been a painter by trade. Ten children were born to them. Two died in infancy and four after reaching maturity, namely Mrs. Wm. Stronks, Arie and Henry Bomgaars and Mrs. R. Vos. The four surviving children are Gysbert Bomgaars of Orange City, Will W. Bomgaars, Mrs. Sjoert De Jong, both of Newkirk, Mrs. D. Ellerbroek, Grand Rapids, Mich. The family moved from Alton to Maurice, where Mr. Bomgaars died some 45 years ago. In 1905 Mrs. Bomgaars married G.H. Schoep of Sioux Center. Mr. Schoep passed on about ten years ago. Mrs. Schoep was highly regarded in every community in which she lived and a large number of friends were present at the services Monday. Friends and relatives from Alton who drove over for the funeral were Messrs. and Mesdames Joe Rexwinkel, John Meyer, Wm. Stronks, Henry Vander Linden, Mrs. D.J. Gleysteen and Miss Sya Gleysteen.
