She came to America in 1903, when 17, and settled at Fairmont, where an aunt was living. On September 19, 1906, she was married to William Bergstrand, and their first home was on a farm near Fairmont. Their home was blessed with four children: Wilma, John, Mrs. Helen Bolton and Raymond. Read More	Agda Karoline Hernberg was born in Sweden, July 15, 1886, and passed away at York, Nebraska, November 25, 1928; aged forty-two years, four months and ten days. She came to America in 1903, when 17, and settled at Fairmont, where an aunt was living. On September 19, 1906, she was married to William Bergstrand, and their first home was on a farm near Fairmont. Their home was blessed with four children: Wilma, John, Mrs. Helen Bolton and Raymond. One grandchild gladdened her heart. Mr. Bergstrand moved his family to the present farm home just north of Benedict, Nebraska, five years ago. Mrs. Bergstrand was confirmed in the Lutheran Church while yet in Sweden and brought her Bible with her to America. She was hindered in her church attendance by ill health. She was a good woman, a devoted wife and mother, and respected by all. Besides her husband and children, she leaves many friends. The services were held from the Benedict Methodist church by the pastor, Rev. W.H. Mills, the choir adding special music. The remains were brought to Fairmont for burial Tuesday, November 27, at 4:00 o'clock p.m. Pallbearers were Charles Keith, Nels Kent, Warren Frickey, Art Belcher, Samuel Welch and Lynn Sparling. Relatives attending the services from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bergstrand, Joseph Bergstrand, Mrs. A. Bergstrand and Mr. and Mrs. E. Kahm. Mrs. Bergstrand's death occurred Sunday afternoon at the York hospital, following a surgical operation for the removal of gall stones, performed Thursday. The husband and children have the sincere sympathy of many old friends in the Fairmont territory in their time of sorrow.
