Description	:	Agnes A. Wivell Topper departed this life June 17 in Emmitsburg. She was a daughter of the late Joseph Francis "Frank" Wivell and Mary Lingg Wivell. Mrs. Topper had a strong relationship with the Daughters of Charity. She was one of their affiliates to the community. Mrs. Topper was a cook for the Daughters; taught school at St. Euphemia's Grade School and St. Joseph's High School for 19 years. She worked as an evening supervisor of the dining room at St. Joseph's College for four years and did volunteer work at the Seton Thrift shop for nine years that is run by... Read More	Agnes A. Wivell Topper departed this life June 17 in Emmitsburg. She was a daughter of the late Joseph Francis "Frank" Wivell and Mary Lingg Wivell. Mrs. Topper had a strong relationship with the Daughters of Charity. She was one of their affiliates to the community. Mrs. Topper was a cook for the Daughters; taught school at St. Euphemia's Grade School and St. Joseph's High School for 19 years. She worked as an evening supervisor of the dining room at St. Joseph's College for four years and did volunteer work at the Seton Thrift shop for nine years that is run by the Daughters. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Emmitsburg and was an active member of the Sodality until health problems made her give this up. She was an active member of the PTA of St. Joseph's High School while her eight children attended school. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in by her husband, James l. Topper, who departed this life June 28, 1980, and is survived by four daughters, Frances "Bonnie" Lingg of Emmitsburg, Jean Orendorff of Nottingham, MD, Dianna Papini of Rockville, MD, and Pam Cool of Tucson, AZ; one son, James Topper of Owensboro, KY; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Loretta Marie Sellman and Dorothy A. Standbach; one son, Raymond L. Topper; two infant grandsons; and one infant great-granddaughter.
