(Quigley) Paden, 84 October 29, 1906 ~ October 27, 1991 Agnes was born Oct. 29, 1906 in the Purple Cane community northwest of North Bend, in Dodge County, Nebraska to John and Mary Frances (Trueblood) Quigley. Agnes graduated from North Bend High School. She married James D. Paden on Aug. 20, 1927 at Harlowton, Montana. They were blessed with a son and a daughter. They lived in Harlowton, Montana, for ten years, and in 1937 moved to Fremont, Nebraska where they lived until 1950. After that, they came to North Bend. Sadly, James preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1987. That year, Agnes returned to Fremont. She moved to Birchwood Manor in North Bend three weeks ago, in October, 1991. She was a secretary for Paden Oil Co., from 1950-67 and was also a homemaker. She was a 50-year member of First United Methodist Church and the church circle and also Ruth Chapter of Order of Eastern Star (OES), both in North Bend. In addition, she belonged to Purple Cane Educational Club and Goldenrod Garden Club. A funeral was held Tuesday morning for Agnes B. Paden, who died Oct. 27, 1991 at Birchwood Manor in North Bend, Nebraska. She was 84. She was preceded in death by a son, Duane; three brothers: Stanley, Russel and Ralph Quigley; five sisters: Elsie Lucke, Lillian Hartmann, Flosie Kendrick, Susie Paden and Effie Tubbs. Left with memories are a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Marilyn) A. Skalberg of Fremont; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Nelson of Erie, Penn.; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Hiram Lilley conducting the service and offering words of comfort. James and Maxine Arneal provided music. Burial was at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont with graveside services conducted by members of Ruth Chapter, OES. Pallbearers were Leland Lucke, Bernard Paden, Norman Heese, Robert Marxsen, Bill D. Paden and Paul Hamilton. Lillian was born on July 11, 1904 at Purple Cane, NE She married Elmer J. Hartmann on June 5, 1927 She died on Aug 1, 1975 in Sidney, NE due to Acute Leukemia, and is buried at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, NE.
