She went to school and spent her childhood in and around Lawrence, Nebraska, later moving with her family to Bladen. Read More	d/Fedor & Frances (Hort) Schwynoch Agnes Dusek Obituary Agnes Dusek, 82, was born on a farm east of Lawrence on March 18, 1904 to Fedor and Frances (Hort) Schwynoch. She went to school and spent her childhood in and around Lawrence, Nebraska, later moving with her family to Bladen. In 1924 Agnes married Edward Dusek and they lived on their farm south-east of Bladen until his death in 1961. After her husband died Agnes moved to Blue Hill where she lived until her death on September 10, 1986 in the Bethesda Care Center at Blue Hill, Nebraska. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, three brothers, Joseph, Otis, and Alex; eight sisters, Anna Forst, Clara, Jennie Heinz, Mary Mazel, Helen Huston, Martha Hollmeck, Lillian Soppe, and Frances Hill. Survivors are one brother Paul Schwynoch of Salem, Oregon, and three generation of nieces and nephews. A rosary was September 11, 1986 at 7:30 pm at Merten-Butler Funeral Home Chapel and Funeral services were held September 12, 1986 at 10:00 am in Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Valerian Bartek officiating. Music was provided by organist Joan Classen and soloist, Sharon Floth. Songs were “I Am the Bred of Life”; “I know My Redeemer Lives” and “My Shepard, Lord”. Pallbearers were Jim Buschow, Mike Buschow, Richard Forst, Michael Forst, Steve Heusel and James Kavanaugh. Interment was made in Blue Hill cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska. Arrangement were by Merten-Butler funeral Home in Blue Hill, Nebraska. Blue Hill Leader 18 Sep 1986 Front Page Agnes (Schwynoch) Dusek Agnes Dusek recalls the many dances her family played for around the Blue Hill area and how well she liked to dance when she was younger. Her father played the violin, a brother and sister each played accordions and one sister the piano. Agnes said she went to many dances and really enjoyed dancing. In the old Opera House in Blue Hill she said her best friend Florence Arterburn and her helped many a teenager learn how to dance. They would each take a partner and have the teenagers followed behind them and do the steps and then each would dance with the teens as their partners to help them learn the correct steps. Agnes was born on March 18, 1904 on a farm four miles east of Lawrence to Fedor and Frances Hort Schwynoch (Swino). Her father was born in Germany and her mother in Czechoslovakia and both came to America at the age of 17. Her father made his living as a butcherer. She had four brothers and eight sisters. She said no matter how bad the weather she had to walk four miles to and from school every day. She attended Sacred Heart Parochial School and completed the seventh grade and then stayed at home to help her parents. Agnes was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence and took her first communion and confirmation at Scared Heart Church. Her father farmed in later years and she had to work in the fields and help with chores and also help her mother by taking care of the younger children. Her parents moved from Lawrence to a farm near Bladen when she was a teenager and she said she began dating Edward Dusek. She married Edward Dusek on September 30, 1924 in Kansas and they lived their 37 years of married life on a farm two miles south and one mile east of Bladen. Agnes said as therapy for rheumatoid arthritis she used to sit and crochet because the doctor said if she didn’t use her hands she would lose the use of them. She said she spent many hours crying and crocheting. She crocheted tablecloths, doilies and many infant sweaters and booties. Agnes said even though it hurt terribly to crochet it did help the arthritis and her hands didn’t become useless. After Ed’s sudden death on May 1, 1961 Agnes built a new house in Blue Hill and moved to town. She enjoyed traveling and drove to Kansas, Colorado, North and South Dakota and most of Nebraska with her sister Anna. She also enjoyed going on tours. Agnes is a charter member of the Bladen Goldenrod Club and member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Bridge Club at Blue Hill. Her hobbies included dancing, crocheting and playing cards, especially bridge. After a fall and broken hip in 1981 Agnes returned to her home and had help come in the mornings to help her with the work. She has resided at Bethesda Care Center since February 1986.
