Wife and Baby Drowned Near Bloomfield The drowning of Mrs. Will Brown and baby occurred Monday evening south of Bloomfield as they were returning home in a buggy after the rain. They had been accompanied to Bloomfield by Mr. Brown's brother and sister 12 and 14 years of age. After the heavy rain they started home. They found Wauconda Creek out of banks near the Harvey Wray farm but thought they could across. The buggy was swept over and the two horses drowned, Mrs. Brown and baby being carried down the stream. The boy and girl grasp some bushes and clung to them till help could reach them. A hunt was started for the bodies and that of the baby was found about a half mile down the stream. The wife's body had not been found yet yesterday when a letter was written by G. W. Phillips to his son Curtis of this city telling him of the occurrence.
