Community Saddened by News of The Passing of Mrs. Jenkins; Long-time Resident. Agnes Diana Jenkins, wife of Henry L. Jenkins, passed away at her home in Gothenburg, June 8, 1950, following a long illness. She was born at Confidence, Ia., December 10, 1885, and at an early age came with her parents the late Oliver P. Greene and wife, to Gothenburg, Nebraska, residing in this community most of the time since. She attended rural school near her farm home, and took part in the neighborhood affairs of the early days, always keeping a lively interest in the friends and people of the community. She was a charter member of the P.V.C. Club east of Gothenburg and through all her life had a great enjoyment in the rural club work. December 31, 1902, she married Henry L. Jenkins and to this union were born five children, of whom three infant boys preceded her in death. She survived by her husband,k, Henry L. Jenkins; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Baysden, San Diego, Calif; a son, Dr. Oliver L. Jenkins of Oshkosh, Neb.; two grandsons and one granddaughter. In keeping with her generous ideas, she reared in her home, Mrs. Mozelle Schulte of Wichita, Kansas. All who met and knew Agnes Jenkins were her friends, for she was the cheery, lively, friendly person of her neighborhood. She was baptized in Lake Gothenburg with her group of young friends and later became a member of the Methodist church at Gothenburg, a member of The W.C.T.U. while able to take part in the work, and member of the Rebekah Lodge. In her passing, besides her immediate family, she leaves to mourn her passing, a brother, John W. Greene; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Wickertrom and Mrs. Ol Cleo Kinyon, their families and a host of neighbors and friends. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church, Sunday, June 11, at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Gale A. Moon officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Howard Anderson, Howard Anderson, Mrs. Elton Hedstrom and Glenn Brant, with Miss Leora Rippen at the organ. Pallbearers were Clarence McNeal, Roy Smith, Jurgen Aden, Lloyd Anderson, John Koster and Erick Blixt. Interment was in Gothenburg cemetery. Olesen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
