Description	:	Mrs. Agnes Vande Brake, age 86, of Orange City, passed away Sunday, March 10, at the Sioux Center Community Nursing Home. Agnes was born July 11, 1909, at Springfield, South Dakota, die daughter of Leonard C. and Jane (DeRoos) Den Ouden. She was raised mostly at Springfield. On February 18, 1931, she married Eibert Henry Vande Brake at Springfield. They farmed south of Sioux Center. Mr. Vande Brake passed away November [sic] 23, 1945, at Sioux Center. Read More	Mrs. Agnes Vande Brake, age 86, of Orange City, passed away Sunday, March 10, at the Sioux Center Community Nursing Home. Agnes was born July 11, 1909, at Springfield, South Dakota, die daughter of Leonard C. and Jane (DeRoos) Den Ouden. She was raised mostly at Springfield. On February 18, 1931, she married Eibert Henry Vande Brake at Springfield. They farmed south of Sioux Center. Mr. Vande Brake passed away November [sic] 23, 1945, at Sioux Center. Mrs. Vande Brake continued to operate the farm until 1953, when she moved to Orange City. There she was a cook at Northwestern College, was employed in die laundry at the Sioux County Home, and also did babysitting. In November of 1978 she became a resident of the Valley Manor in Rock Valley and in September of 1993, she transferred to the home in Sioux Center. She was a member of the First Reformed Church. Survivors include her four daughters, Jane, and her husband, Elmer Hubers, of Pantego, NC; Retha, and her husband, Stan Oolman, of Paullina; Lois, and her husband, Gib Byker, of Irelon; and Phyllis Kempema, of Spirit Lake; nineteen grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Frank Den Ouden, of San Marcos, CA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Van Etten-Oolman-VanGelder Funeral Home in Orange City was in charge of arrangements.
