Cordel, passed away at her home, 415 Tama street, on Thursday evening, at 6:20 o’clock after an illness of a year’s duration. The deceased had been in delicate health for some time and since she removed from the farm east of the city last December she has been confined to her bed. The deceased had been in delicate health for some time and since she removed from the farm east of the city last December she has been confined to her bed. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock from the family residence, 415 Tama street, Rev. A.L. Golden, pastor of the Marion street M.E. church officiating. The pall bearers were Messrs. F.P. Wylie, D.C. Harmon, C.A. Osgood, R.T. Duckworth, W.M. Wheelock, J.H. Dale. The remains were laid to rest in Linwood Park cemetery. Agnes Grubb was born in Cumberland county, Pennsylvania, in 1837. In 1851 at the age of 14 years she moved with her parents to Mansfield, Ohio, riding on the first through train of the Pittsburg & Fort Wayne railroad. In 1854 she entered the Methodist church and to the time of her death was a consistent and beautiful member. She was untied in marriage to J.L. Cordell at Windsor Ohio, October 1, 1857. They were active in the Christian work at Osceola, Crawford county, Ohio, and her Mr. and Mrs. Cordell instrumental in assisting the struggling church to maintain its life. In the spring of the year 1881 they moved to the farm east of the city and remained there until the fall of 1911 when they took up their residence on Tama street this city. Mrs. Cordell is survived by a husband and two children. One son, J. LaVergne, died in infancy. Those surviving are one daughter, Miss Bertha, and a son, Edward B. Cordell. During the long sickness Miss Bertha displayed a beautiful character in the care of her mother. One brother, Wesley Grubb of Crawford county Ohio, and sister, Mrs. Mary Mininch of Paola, Kansas.
