However, she chose to leave this world and move on to her life everlasting with God on June 6, 2013. Born in Conrad, a "country girl." Highlights of those years were riding along with family when they delivered milk to their many customers in the Oil Field (Gallup City Townsite), cleaning the chicken coop and eating peas out of the garden. She was born Agnes Erickson, the youngest of seven children (Frieda, Allan, Lloyd, Mabel, Hazel and Andy) to Mary Jacobsen Erickson and Andrew Erickson. Mom said "Being the youngest, I think I might have been somewhat pampered." She attended the Erickson school like all of her siblings and as she stated "of course, walked the mile and a half to school." She envied her neighbor kids who lived a mile farther from school and got rides to school in a buggy. In the winter she was able to ride in the sled. Mom's parents moved to the town of Conrad from the farm in 1934, where she started sixth grade a year later. Mom graduated from Conrad High in 1940 and moved to Great Falls, where she attended Business College for six months. Mom became active in the Lutheran Church, Luther League and sang in the choir. It was there she met her future husband, Roy Watne. Due to Roy's service in the Navy during World War II, their courtship was mainly by letters. They married in Seattle in December 1944. Son Clifford (Nancy) was born the following year, followed by son Harold, aka Hud, in 1948, daughter Marsha (Dick Casad) in 1951 and son Andrew, aka Ole, in 1960. Mom and Roy became charter members of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in 1956. After Mother returned to Billings in 1989, she was "re-membered" into the Good Shepherd family. When the family was at Lutheran Bible Camp (now Christikon), for a family work weekend over the Fourth of July in 1965, Roy was struck with a heart attack and passed away a few hours later. After Roy's death, Mom worked as the secretary for Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Billings for several years. As the result of some serious matchmaking by her friend Virginia Novotny, she met her second husband, Jack Olsen, at the Locomotive Diner in Laurel. They were married in June 1972 and moved to Glasgow shortly after. Jack retired from Mountain Bell in the mid-1980s and they settled in Missoula until Jack's death from cancer in February 1989. Mom inherited two wonderful stepchildren as a result of that union: Roger (Donna) Olsen and Holly (CJ Wallington) Olsen. Tragedy struck again in 2004 when her son Harold, aka Hud, died on July 4th of a heart attack while golfing. After returning to Billings in 1989, Mom volunteered for 20 years, first at Deaconess Hospital and then at St. John's Lutheran Home. Until her stroke, she was actively involved in the quilting group at Good Shepherd and assisted with the church bulletin every Friday. For many years, Mom was a member of the church circle, Eastern Star and Sons of Norway. In January of this year, Mom received her Golden Membership into Sons of Norway, Jotunheimen Lodge 4-499. She thoroughly enjoyed Billings Mustangs baseball games, the Summer Concert Series at St. John's Lutheran Home, attending community concerts at Billings Studio Theatre, Alberta Bair Theater, Symphony in the Park and any additional musical event she could find. One of the more memorable events she attended was the "Tribute to Ed Harris" concert, which was particularly moving and spiritual for Mom. She particularly looked forward to spending time with her family. In her spare time, she liked crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and playing Scrabble with Ole. Mom was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; husbands Roy and Jack; and son Harold, aka Hud. Mom has one surviving brother, Andy Erickson. She is survived by grandsons, Brenden Watne and Thomas Morris; granddaughter Kristen Morris and great-granddaughters, Mariyah Morris and Keera Watne; also by several step-grandchildren, Miles Olsen, Maria (Eric)Whisenhunt, Thomas Wedding, Sheri Wedding, Amanda (Jason) Cureton Tony (Jamie) Casad, Ryan (Michelle) Casad; and step-great-grandchildren Randy Jimenez, Bailey Casad, Kaycee Casad, Austin Casad and Benjamin Cureton; as well as many nieces and nephews. Second to Mom's commitment to serving the Lord, her pride and joy in life was her family. "Mom, you were God's greatest gift to us, and anyone that had the privilege to know you. We are so blessed to have been a part of your life and share your love. Rest in peace in God's glorious splendor until we see you again." In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Mom's memory to Christikon Lutheran Bible Camp, 1108 24th St. W., Billings, MT 59102-3810 or a charity of your choice. A memorial service and luncheon will be held at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1108 24th St. W., at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 10.
