Description	:	Mrs. Agnes McDermott, 79, a former resident of the Ida Grove, Iowa, community died of a heart attack at the home of a son, Harold, in Holstein, Iowa, on Tuesday, March 11, 1947. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ennis, and was born in Scott County, Iowa, in 1867. In 1882, she moved with her parents to a farm near Holstein. Read More	Mrs. Agnes McDermott, 79, a former resident of the Ida Grove, Iowa, community died of a heart attack at the home of a son, Harold, in Holstein, Iowa, on Tuesday, March 11, 1947. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ennis, and was born in Scott County, Iowa, in 1867. In 1882, she moved with her parents to a farm near Holstein. In 1894 she was united in marriage with Michael McDermott, and they settled on a farm in Logan Township. Nine children were born to them, all of whom but one survive. After the tragic death of her husband in 1914, she continued to reside on he farm until 1928 when she moved to Sioux City, Iowa. She resided there until a week before her death. She came to Holstein to visit in the home of her son Surviving are 7 sons: Harold E. of Holstein, Wilfred of Carroll, Iowa; Cyril of Ida Grove; John of Champaign, Illinois; Francis of Los Angeles; Earl of Mason City; Joseph; and a daughter, Mrs Howard Noonan of Sioux City. One son, Robert, died in 1926. She also leaves 6 sisters: Mrs. M. M. White of Omaha, Mrs P. P. White of Ida Grove, Mr. Lillian McGuire of Holstein, Mrs. Celia Hitchcock and Miss Tess Ennis of Sioux City, and Sister Mary of Milwaukee. The body was brought to the Moore & Christensen funeral home, and funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Father Harry Dailey officiating at the requiem mass. All of the children were present at the services. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery, Ida Grove.
