Johnson, 93, of North Platte passed away March 6, 2007, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. She was born May 27, 1913, to John Olaf and Tilda Jungren Hoaglund near Brady. Her dad passed away when Agnes was five so she helped her mother with the housework and the chores on the farm. She helped neighbors with their work also. She attended a country school south of Brady through the eighth grade. Agnes walked to school and stopped by the neighbors on the way, thus causing her to get into trouble for being late. On Sept. 8, 1937, she married Wilbert William Willard Johnson. The couple farmed and ranched south of Brady. They had six children. She and Wilbert loved working and living on the farm. They loved to have company for coffee and cookies. They raised a huge garden with a sweet corn patch and gave away a lot of the produce. After retirement, the couple moved to Gothenburg in 1989. In 2005, she moved into Linden Estates and in November 2006 she moved into Linden Court in North Platte. Agnes enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, baking (and giving her baked goods away), gardening, dancing and playing cards. She liked to bowl and she and Wilbert bowled on two leagues, one in North Platte and one in Gothenburg. Agnes always had coffee and baked goods ready for anybody who visited and would be offended if you didn't have any! She baked her grandkids favorite cookie or pie every Christmas. One Christmas she made over 1100 cookies plus candy and carmel corn. Her greatest enjoyment in life was being with her kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Survivors include daughters, Catherine (Skip) Spotts of North Platte and Karen (Gilbert) Larson of Curtis; grandchildren, Tony (DeAnn) Larson of Littleton, Colo., Teresa (Troy) Greve of Waverly, Mike (Shirley) Godwin of Enid, Okla., and Patty (Jason) Nelson of Phoenix; great grandchildren, Ryan, Eric, Brooke and Brett Larson of Littleton, Trae and Trev Greve of Waverly, Colby and Taylor Godwin and Jessica and Cameron Bickerstaff all of Enid, and Tiffany and Alexis Hill and Jordan Nelson all of Phoenix and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbert; a daughter, Diane Godwin; three sons, Richard, Lyle and Deloit; sisters, Ruby Janeski, Bessie Dovenbarger and Anna Fitzgerald; and brothers, Ernest Hoaglund, Earl Hoaglund, Harold Hoaglund and Edwin Hoaglund. A memorial has been established and condolences may be shared online at www.adamsswanson.com. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2007, at Adams & Swanson Chapel with the Rev. Cathy Cole officiating. Burial will be in the Gaslin Cemetery in Brady. Visitation will be from 12 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
