Jackie (Andy) Rollins mother of Bobbie, Jennie and Sven. Jenny Lee mother of Dale. She was predeceased by her parents Hans and Hanna Otteson, her beloved husband Sven Varhaug, her nine siblings and in-laws, her great-grandson Braden Firestone, grandson-in-law Rick Betts, son-in-law's Lloyde Palmer, Bruce Firestone and the love of Thelma's life Dick Roest. Agnes was born June 5, 1913 in Wheat Centre, Alberta. She married, Sven, the love of her life on October 29, 1944, in the old Ibbestad Lutheran Church (the last wedding held there). They raised their four children on the farm four miles north and 1.5 miles east of Enchant. Mom was a home maker and was involved with the L.C.W. in Enchant and after Sven passed away she moved to Camrose for a short time in 1972 and after eight months moved back to Lethbridge to Parkview estates from 1972-1996, then to Hardie Manor, Blue Sky Lodge, Golden Acres and to her final home at Fairmont Extendicare. Before losing her eye sight Mom was always making afghans, Christmas ornaments and whatever else she could create. Every child, grandchild and great-grandchild has an afghan made by Mom and some have even crossed the ocean to Norway and Sweden plus entered in the U.S. Mom lived for her family; they were her entire life as well as her everlasting faith. She was active in the Lutheran Churches she attended, president of the L.C.W. (Lutheran Church Women) in Enchant and very active with Creative Fingers at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Lethbridge. Mom was loved by all who met her and was never one to complain even through life's many ups and downs. Her life was full of memories and she cherished them all. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends and all those who knew her. A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Andrew Horne officiating. Following the reception at Cornerstone Funeral Home, interment will be held at Ibbestad Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Agnes to Camrose Lutheran Bible Institute (CLBI), 4837-52A Street, Camrose, AB, T4V 1W5 or to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), 410 Stafford Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 2L2, or to S.T.A.R.S., 416-10 Street North, Lethbridge, AB, T1H 2C7, or to a charity of your choice.
