Description	:	Agnes Sofia Bjorklund was born to John and Anna Bjorklund on August 25, 1911, at Chicago, Ill., and passed away January 12, 2001 at York General Hospital in York at 89 years, four months and 18 days. Read More	Agnes Sofia Bjorklund was born to John and Anna Bjorklund on August 25, 1911, at Chicago, Ill., and passed away January 12, 2001 at York General Hospital in York at 89 years, four months and 18 days. She was one of five children. Two brothers died in infancy. When Agnes was two months old, her family left Chicago and took the train to Fairmont. Swedish was spoken in their home, so when Agnes started school at six years old, she would answer the teacher's questions in Swedish. The family moved to a ranch near Springview, when Agnes was seven. Agnes recalled that blue bands on the telephone poles marked the trail from Fillmore County to Keya Paha County. She graduated from Springview High School in 1930. After attending Chadron State College, she taught school in Lost Creek Country school and Williams Country school. Agnes met Max Galusha at Epworth League. This group met every two weeks in homes. She had seen Max on the street at Ainsworth and thought he was very cute. They were married on September 26, 1933. To this union were born four children. The drought in the sandhills in the 30's forced them to move back to Fillmore County where they farmed until retirement. Max and Agnes traveled extensively with family or friends. Max and Agnes traveled to Sweden in 979 visiting many cousins. Agnes was a member of the United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She was active in the Sunshine Circle, Rebekah's, Royal neighbors, Senior Center and Excelsior Extension Club. Agnes was a kind, compassionate, caring person, who loved her family and friends unconditionally. Everyone will miss her. Her parents, her husband, Max, and three brothers preceded her in death. She is survived by children, Dawne Lorraine Hedden and husband, Ted; Jerry Gaulsha and wife, Nancy Jo, Maxine Klingsporn and husband Larry, and Robert Galusha and wife, Marla; her sister Bernice Evans and by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Fairmont Community church on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 with Pastor Betsy Galloway-Carew and Rev. Brian Kottas officiating. Nancy Jo Galusha accompanied Greg Rehm who sang "Amazing Grace" and "Precious Lord". Pallbearers were Mitch Hedden, Larry Wells, Jarrett Galusha, Ryan Hedden, Jack Galusha, Spencer Lauber, Adam Hedden and Tanner Hedden. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery.
