Description	:	Allie A Husted was born April 29, 1915 in Champion, Alberta, Canada to farmer parents. When he was about five years old, he moved with his family to western Nebraska, where farming continued to be the family occupation. Al grew up doing his share of the chores and farm work. Al attended school in Henry, Nebraska. Because they only had 11 grades in the school system, he attended his last year in Torrington, Wyoming, graduating with the class of 1933. Read More	Allie A Husted was born April 29, 1915 in Champion, Alberta, Canada to farmer parents. When he was about five years old, he moved with his family to western Nebraska, where farming continued to be the family occupation. Al grew up doing his share of the chores and farm work. Al attended school in Henry, Nebraska. Because they only had 11 grades in the school system, he attended his last year in Torrington, Wyoming, graduating with the class of 1933. He was active in baseball, football, basketball and track, earning a letter in track. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Army, serving in Little Rock, Arkansas and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. After two years of service, he was honorably discharged. He made a lifetime career of Law Enforcement. He worked as a dispatcher for the City of Lincoln, Nebraska. Following retirement, he was employed by the Veterans Administration in Lincoln for approximately two years, On May 20, 1955 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Sorensen in Lincoln. They made their home there until 1980 when they relocated to Riverside, California. In 1987 they moved to Gregory, South Dakota where they remained until Dorothy's death in May of 1990. Al lived in Gregory until moving to Rosewood Court Assisted Living in Mitchell, SD in 1995. When his granddaughter, Vickie Coe, opened the Rose Manor in Colome, South Dakota, he moved there to be closer to family. He also lived at Whispering Pines in Burke for several years. He passed away on July, 17, 2013 at the Winner Regional Care Center in Winner, South Dakota. Al was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; a son-in-law, Marlo Audiss and three grandchildren. Al is survived by his three daughters: and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Burke.
