Description	:	Alameda Jane Gray was born June 5, 1833 in Orleans County, New York. When she was quite young her parrents remvoed to Valparaiso, Porter County, Indiana. Here she was married on March 20, 1856 to Heman C Gray. Later she removed with her husband to My Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa where they lived until the breaking out of the Civil war in 1861. After the war they moved to Davenport, Scott County, Iowa and lived there for some years. Read More	Alameda Jane Gray was born June 5, 1833 in Orleans County, New York. When she was quite young her parrents remvoed to Valparaiso, Porter County, Indiana. Here she was married on March 20, 1856 to Heman C Gray. Later she removed with her husband to My Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa where they lived until the breaking out of the Civil war in 1861. In 1877 they settled on a farm southeast of Grinnell, Poweshiek County, Iowa where they lived until the death of Mr Gray in 1902. She then moved to Grinnell where she has lived until her death on September 14, 1916. To this union were born eight children Josephine J, Ella L, Carrie Bell, Herbert C, Alfred A, Ida May, Silas W and Bert B. Mrs Gray leaves behind her the record of a faithfull life and it can be truly said that her children rise up and call her blessed.
