Description	:	Lime Springs Herald (IA), 26 May 1977 (excerpt) Three young adults were killed in an early Sunday morning head-on collision about three miles north of Cresco on the V-58 county blacktop. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Taylor of rural Cresco were dead upon arrival at the Howard county hospital and James Schmauss, also of rural Cresco, driver of the other car, likewise. The Taylors were enroute to their home only two miles away at Granger Road Co. A-3, while Schmauss was southbound. Mrs. Taylor's twin sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Stevenson, Jr., who were following the Taylor car, came upon the accident momentarily. Joint funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cresco for Alan Francis Taylor, 27, and his wife Kathy, 25. Burial was in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Spillville. Alan's survivors are two daughters, Kari and Karla, both at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Taylor of Fort Atkinson; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Christina Taylor of Fort Atkinson; maternal grandfather, Arthur Tupy of Fort Atkinson; five brothers, Richard of Nora Springs, Ronald of Media, PA, Lores of New Hampton, David and John, both of Fort Atkinson; a sister, Ann of Fort Atkinson.
