Albert A Marr (Special to the Free Press) Montpelier, April 23 – Word has been received by relatives in this city of the death Monday afternoon of Albert A. Marr in the Togus Veterans' Hospital in Augusta, Me. Mr. Marr was born in Barre August 20, 1893, te son of Thomas and Jane Marr. He was graduated from Spaulding High school in 1913 and entered the University of Vermont the following September. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. In 1915 he went to St. Albans, Me., where he worked in a store owned by E.W. Jackson, now of Montpelier. He married there Miss Doris Buker on August 17, 1917. Mr. Marr saw service in France with the 26th division and after the World War was employed for a time in the American Woolen Company of Hartland, Me. For eight years he was postmaster at Hartland. He later bought a clothing store which he conducted until two years ago when failing health forced him to retire from business. While in Hartland he identified himself with a number of organizations and served as past master of Corinthian Masonic lodge, past patron of Evening Star Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and past commander of Christopher Linn Post of the American Legion. Surviving Mr. Marr are his wife, one son, Wendell, a student in the Maine School of Commerce, and a sister, Miss Jean Marr of Montpelier. There are also a number of nieces and nephews in this city. The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Hartland and burial will be in Pine Grove cemetery there. (The Burlington Free Press and Times, Burlington, VT, Wednesday 24 April 1940, p15)
