Born in Florence, SC, on August 1, 1931, he was the third child of Charles Dewey Munn and Elizabeth Merritt Munn. Albert graduated in 1954 from The Citadel and subsequently entered the Army. Born in Florence, SC, on August 1, 1931, he was the third child of Charles Dewey Munn and Elizabeth Merritt Munn. Albert graduated in 1954 from The Citadel and subsequently entered the Army. While in the Army Signal Corps he was stationed in Okinawa. He completed his military service in the Army National Guard. Following the Army, Mr. Munn was employed as a cashier by Pamplico Bank and Trust Company. He later advanced to president and chairman of the board of both Pamplico Bank and Trust Company and Johnsonville State Bank until he orchestrated their sale to The Citizens Bank in 2007. While working for these banks, he computerized each of the banks, built new bank buildings for each bank and expanded operations. Mr. Munn was also president of Munn Insurance Agency and a partner in the Independent Tobacco Warehouse. Albert was a lifelong member of Pamplico United Methodist Church. He was baptized as an infant and he later confirmed this baptism in this same church. He served on the church's Administrative Board as well as chairman of the Finance Committee and church treasurer. Mr. Munn's civic club activities include a member of the Pamplico Jaycees, treasurer of the Pamplico Lions Club, founding director of the Hannah Pamplico Recreation Center, councilman of the Pamplico Town Council and a member of Omar Temple of the Shrine and The Royal Order of the Jesters, Court 113 of Charleston, SC. Mr. Munn is survived by his wife, the former Charlotte Lucille Finklea whom he married on October 1, 1955 in Pamplico. He is also survived by his two children, Albert Alonzo Munn, IV and wife Karen Thomason Munn, of Florence, SC and Samuel Mark Munn and wife Cynthia Terrell Munn, of Charleston and three grandchildren, Albert Alonzo "Lance" Munn, V, Charlotte Leigh "Carly" Munn and Wesley Alexander Munn. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles Dewey Munn, Jr. and Dozier Merritt Munn as well as one grandson, Samuel Barrett Munn. His life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 3:30 p.m., November 10, 2013, at Pamplico United Methodist Church with a private burial in Woodside Cemetery.
