He has a half-sister, Mary Jane (Cummings) Fletcher who was also buried in this cemetery. The many friends of Mr. Albert B. Cummings were shocked to learn of his death Wednesday night at eleven o'clock. Mr. Cummings has been suffering with Bright's disease, and although it was known that he could not live but a short time, still his death Wednesday came as a sudden blow to his many friends. Mr. Cummings had not been well for over a year and for the last six months had been unable to work but during the first part of the last six months he was able to attend to his work part of the time. Albert B. Cummings was born in Bridgewater October 7, 1847 and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Caleb Cummings. He lived for the first few years of his life in Bridgewater and then moved to this place, living here ever since with the exception of two years which he lived in Plymouth. He first worked at the Leatherboard business and then later as a paper maker, but for the last twenty-five he had been a trusted employee of the shipping department of that concern. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and was an admirer of all sports and was well known among the sportsmen of this community. He was very popular and much liked by his many friends. He is survived by his wife, one daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Piper, one sister, Mrs. Frank Fifield, three nephews, A.F. Fifield, Lester H. Fifield and Arthur S. Fifield, one niece, Miss Louie V Fifield, beside a number of more distant relatives. As we go to press the time of the funeral has not been decided upon. The Ashland Citizen, April 7, 1906, p5. The funeral of Albert B. Cummings was held Sunday afternoon at his residence on Depot Street with the Rev. F.D. George of Franklin as the officiating clergyman. The I.O.O.F. of which Mr. Cummings was a member, attended the funeral in a body and performed the services at the graves. The bearers were Harry S. Huckins, Frank S. Huckins, William Sweeney, George F. Plummer, J. Gardner Smith and George Maynard. The floral display was one of the most beautiful seen here for some time and consisted of the following: Pillow of white roses, 'Husband and Father,' Mrs Cummings and Mr and Mrs Piper; garland of Easter lilies, 'Brother,' Mrs Fifield; garland of violets, ferns and ribbon, Louie V. Fifield, A.S. Fifield and Mr. and Mrs. L.G. Fifield; garland of white carnations and ribbon, Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Fifield, Sherbrooke; cream roses with ribbon, Mr. and Mrs. Newton Cummings, Sherbrooke, calla lilies, H.S. Huckins, F.S. Huckins, Will Sweeney and George F. Plummer; bouquet cut flowers, Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Russell; bouquet of carnations, Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Sargent and Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Brown; bouquet cut flowers, Miss Lydia Chadwick; palms and violets, Draper & Maynard Company; bouquet, Mr. and Mrs. J.W Clarke, Holderness; emblem of order, I.O.O.F.; bouquet, Mrs. Jennie Caldwell; monument of cut flowers, 'Shopmate,' employees of Draper & Maynard Company; garland of dark roses, Clara Perkins and Amelia Wareham; bouquet of white carnations, Moses Tucker and family; dark red carnations, Mrs William Smith and Mrs. Cora Smith; mound of cut flowers, Edward Maynard; Easter lilies, Flora Al Cook, Grace Al Russell and Mary M.
