Read More	Information provided by 47078678 BEAMS, ALBERT—Albert Beams, son of George G. and Annie Beams, was born august 19, 1886, at Firth, neb. He departed this life at Jackson, Wyo., august 2, 1962. Death came unexpectedly and was due to a heart attack. He was on his way to Seattle to visit relatives. Mr. Beams was a graduate of Lincoln high school, where he excelled in football and track; he was a champion runner for his school. He maintained an active interest in athletics and was a strong supporter of the University of Nebraska football teams. He started in business at Maywood, Neb., working in the store of his uncle, Joe Perkin. A veteran of World War I, Bert served with the 355th Infantry, Company I, in France. On his return from the service, he entered the theater business; first at Geneva, later at Pawnee City, still later at Red Cloud and Sutton. He went to Red Cloud January 1, 1926, and had lived there since. August 10, 1926, he was united in marriage to Sylvia nelson of Geneva at York. Mr. Beams was a member of the Red Cloud Chamber of Commerce, the American Legion, and the Congregational Christian church. To all these organizations he was faithful and generous. Many others were recipients of his anonymous gifts. His parents and one brother, Carl, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; a brother, David of Lincoln; two sisters, Margaret of Lincoln and Anne of Keystone Heights, Fla.; two nephews, John E. Nelson of Geneva and Jim R. Edington of Lincoln; one niece, Christie Lou Andersen of Anacortes, Wash., a number of cousins and many friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, August 7, at the Congregational Christian church in Red Cloud, with Rev. M. R. Hinds officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. J. G. Aukes and Mrs. M. R. Hinds, who sang “The Lord is My Shepherd” and “Take My Hand Precious Lord.” They were accompanied by Mrs. Bill Delay. Pallbearers were members of the American legion, Sid Tobler, Glen Copley, Junior Gobel, Gene Harris, Jack Strobl and Harry Sanders. Honorary pallbearers were Phil Sherwood, A. L. Guy, Bert Morhart, William Schenck, Clifford Noble and Don Worman. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 16 August 1962
