| Description | : | Albert Bessire was born to Eugene Bessire and Maryanna Grimm. Albert married Elizabeth Scott on March 8, 1883 in Harrison County, Iowa. All four of their children were born in Iowa. Albert and Elizabeth moved with their young family to the Grand Junction area in Mesa County, Colorado in the spring of 1897. He was a farmer, but also was very active in local politics. Albert served as one of the first Mesa County Commissioners. Albert and Lizzie would bury half of their children prior to their deaths.
