He came to America in 1891 and came directly to Norfolk. He has since farmed near Pierce and Norfolk. He was married on Dec. 13, 1894 to Miss Matilda Voecks. They lived in Pierce county for 5 years then moved to the farm where he was residing at the time of his death. He was survived by 3 sons: George, Oscar both at Norfolk; Paul at Meadow Grove, 6 daughters: Mrs. Viola Turk at Norfolk, Mrs. George Buckendahl at Pierce, Mrs. Lester Weiher at Stanton, Mrs. M. Richardson at Grand Island, Mrs. Walter Heideman, Mrs. August Grimm both at Norfolk; 18 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren Funeral service will be held Saturday. "Rites Held for Albert Draeger Funeral rites for C. Albert Draeger, 75, Norfolk farmer, who died Tuesday night, were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Home for Funerals and Christ Lutheran church by the Rev. A. T. bostelmann, pastor. Burial was in the new Lutheran cemetery, with the followig serving grandsons serving as pallbearers: Gerhardt, Gilbert and Edwin Grimm, Willard Weiher, Junior Richardson and Dean Draeger. Mr. Draeger was born April 11, 1874, at Wismar, Germany. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Germany, and came to America and Norfolk in 1891. He worked on farms in the Norfolk and Pierce communities, and on Dec. 13, 1894 was married to Miss Matilda Voecks. To them eight daughters and four sons were born. The family lived in the Pierce community until 1899, when they moved to a farm in Stanton county east of Norfolk, living there until his death. Had he lived until Dec. 11, he and Mrs. Draeger would have observed their 55th wedding anniversary. Surviving are his wife; three sons, George and Oscar, Norfolk, and Paul, Meadow Grove; six daughters, Mrs. Viola Turk, Norfolk; Mrs. George Buckendahl, Pierce; Mrs. Lester Weiher, Stanton; Mrs. M. Richardson, Grand Island; Mrs. Walter Heidereman and Mrs. August Grimm, both of Norfolk; 21 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son and two daughters.
