The couple lived in Omaha, NE., where he worked for Paxton & Vierling Steel until 1971, when they moved to Niobrara. He then worked for Knox County & also operated the Niobrara Cafe until 1974 when the town was moved. He worked road construction at various places until 1976, when he was employed by Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a crane operator. In 1979 the railroad closed & he returned to construction until 1985, when he began maintenance work for the village of Niobrara. In 1993, worked for Omni Engineering of Omaha & then Browers of Sioux City, until his heart failed. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Art, Virgil, Cecil; 4 sisters, Mildred, Doris, Arlene & Vera. Sioux City Journal
