As a 6 year old; I would beg my parents to request "he set me free" when the church choir sang. They always made me ask and everyone awwwwd @the little girl so in love with that song.It amazes me...the power of that song and others you created. I'm back in church now...28 years later and our choir sang "he set me free" . I was taken back to being a child....not understanding Christianity quite yet but feeling a peace unlike any other. I firmly believe this song helped set the seed to my faith that made battling three rounds of cancer by age 30 easier.I had to see who wrote it and instantly noticed birth.place tiny Spiro Ok...my grandpa was born there nine years later. I'm proud he was born in the same town as you Mr. Brumley.Maybe when I'm in Heaven you guys can tell me about Spiro....I'm glory bound myself you see.Thank you for using the gift God gave you. So many of us throw our gifts away. We cant all say something we did changed the life of someone born the year we died but you can. (1977 was my birth year) and I know I'm not alone. Read less
