Mr Miller died at his home in Wauneta Monday evening of a heart ailment after an illness of a few days. He was in his seventy-first year. Mr Miller was a son-in-law of Mr and Mrs James McLaughlin, Clay county (sic) pioneers, who died some years ago. A native of Illinois, he homesteaded near Moorefield about 1887, and on Dec 10, 1890, was married at Moorefield to Mildred McLaughlin, a sister of Guy McLaughlin of Fairfield and of Fred McLaughlin of Superior. In 1909 Mr Miller disposed of his Moorefield property and after living in Washington state for six years came to Edgar, where he farmed, moving later to a farm near Angus and in 1916 to a farm near Wauneta. A year ago he and Mrs Miller moved to Wauneta. He is survived by his widow and by four children: James Ray, managing editor of the Daily Express-Courier at Fort Collins, Colo.; Mrs Stella Littrel of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Ralph, a farmer near Wauneto (sic) and Bernard, a minister at Chadron, Nebr. Funeral services Wednesday were at the Mount Zion Methodist church (sic) in the rural community where the Millers had lived until recently. It was this church of which he was a member. Burial was at the Wauneta cemetery.
