He was united in marriage to Miss Emma Izora Fishell on February 6, 1895. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Larkin, and one brother, Joseph H. Zachary, both of Marion. Mr. Zachary was a lifelong resident of this community, being born and raised on the farm where he lived until the time of his death. Mr. Zachary united with the Methodist church about 26 years ago, of which he had been a faithful worker and supporter, a man of firm convictions for the betterment of life, always thinking of the welfare of others before himself. He was in love with life, but was not afraid to die, and faced teh end with a calm faith and resignation to the will of God. Funeral services held in the Methodist church at Marion, on Sunday afternoon, were very largely attended and testified to the universal esteem of the community for one of its best citizens.
