Lester Pearson of the Exira Christian church officiated at funeral services at Long's funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Albert Evinger, 86, a former Anita resident who died Wednesday morning at the German Old Peoples home in Omaha. Mrs. Eric Osen accompanied Mrs. Harold Smith who sang 'The Old Rugged Cross' and 'Lead Kindly Light' and Mr. and Mrs. Drexel Chadwick took care of the flowers. Casket bearers were Raymond Lantz, Albert Kama Sr., Jens Rasmussen, Charles Robinson, Carl Miller and Gerald Sheumaker. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.... Albert Evinger, youngest son of Alfred and Elizabeth Evinger, was born July 11. 1872 in Clark county, I11., and moved with his parents as a small child to Placer, Calif., in 1884, later locating near Lincoln. Nebr., where he spent his boyhood. On November 11. 1899, he was married to Lulu May Smith who died March 7. 1909 four hours after a birth of a son. George Albert. On Sept. 25. 191«. he was united in marriage to Daisy M. Smith at Atlantic and they lived in the Anita vicinity until going to Omaha in 1945. Surviving are four stepsons. Charlie, Clyde, Joe and Harry Smith, all of Omaha; three step-grandsons; one step granddaughter, Mrs. Paul White of Anita, a step-great grandson, and a niece living in California. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sons, George Albert and Homer Ralph Evinger, who was killed at March Field Air Baae. Calif. Feb. 13. 1944. five sisters, and two brothers.
