Adden, a resident of Plymouth county for fifty years at his home, 315 Fourth Avenue SW., Friday, September 30. His death was caused by heart trouble when he suddenly collapsed without any warning. He was apparently in his usual state of health and his sudden death came as great shock to his family and friends. Mr. Adden had lived in the county since he was a youth and was a well known and respected farmer. Albert Fredrich Adden was a native of Germany where he was born at Lehrhof, Ost Friesland, December, 1864. He was a son of Albert and Marie Adden. He received his early schooling and education in his native village and was confirmed In the Lutheran faith. He came to America in 1881 and Joined many of his countrymen, who were locating in Plymouth county during the early eighties. On his arrival here; he worked on farms in Grant township for several years and forty-three years ago he started farming on his own account in Elgin township and later in America township. He was a successful farmer and stock breeder and & good judge of land values and cattle. Mr. Adden was united in marriage with Miss Johanna Frericks, October 28, 1892. He is survived by his wife and five children, who are Henry Adden and Albert Adden, of Le Mars; Mrs. Herman Beck, of Merrill; Mrs. W. P. Kilker, of Le Mars and Dick Adden, of Merrill. There are four grandchildren. He leaves a sister, who lives in Wangeroy, Germany. Mr. and Mrs. Adden moved to Le Mars in 1924 to take up their residence. Mr. Adden was a fine citizen, respected by all who knew, him, a loving husband and father and a friendly neighbor. The funeral was held Monday afternoon, services being conducted in the St. John Lutheran church, Rev. J. J. Vollmar, the pastor, officiating.
