Funeral services were Sunday, a family service at 12:30 p.m. at Hitchcock Funeral Home and final rites at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church. The Rev. Leland Grove, pastor of the church, officiated. Lund was born Aug. 9, 1875 near Stanhope, Hamilton County, in a one-room log cabin. He was one of seven children of Swen E. and Ida Lund. On Aug. 23, 1899, he married Emily Sophia Chapman. They moved to Laurens 52 years ago and he was engaged in farming and the auctioneering business for many years. During the last year he had made his home at the Hovenden Memorial Good Samaritan Home in Laurens. Mr. Lund was a member of the Laurens Methodist Church and the Knights of Pythias and Phythian Sisters of Laurens. Survivors He was preceded in death by his wife, who died Dec. 20; two sisters and three brothers. Survivors include one son, Cecil Lund of Holstein; three grandchildren, Gloria (Mrs. Ralph) Nailor of Mount Vernon, David Lund of Sioux City and A. Dean Lund of Denver, Colo. There are also five great grandchildren, a sister, Alma, of Minneapolis, Minn., and other relatives.
