Peters, who passed away at his home Wednesday evening, were held in the Swank church Saturday afternoon, with the Rev, Orval Egbert in charge. Pallbearers were Lou Mumm, H. A. McMillan, George Wall, W. E. Shoquist, Fred Morrison and George Eden. Music for the service was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. Chas. Spevacek, Mrs. E. C. Green, Karl E. Wiese and E. C. Members of Omega Odd Fellow lodge attended the services in a body and conducted services at the grave. Albert Henry Peters, son of Israel and Esther Peters was born in Licking county, Columbus, Ohio, on April 6th, 1856, and departed from this life at his home in Lone Tree, on January 12, 1938, at the age of 81 years, 9 months and six days. He came to Wapello, Iowa, in 1875 where he spent 19 years of his early life. He moved to the vicinity of Lone Tree in 1894. On December 7th, 1896 he married Sarah Anna Drorbaugh. In 1908 he and his wife became members of the Lone Tree Reformed church. He spent most of his life in this community as a farmer, except for a few years spent at Albert Lea, Minn., and also the years spent in Lone Tree, operating a restaurant and store. He had been a faithful member of the local Odd Felows lodge for 33 years. During his life in the community he has made many and lasting friendships by his friendly disposition and a love to visit with his neighbors. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, Sarah Anna Peters; two step-daughters, Mrs. J. H. Cline of Lone Tree and Mrs. G. B. Van Kleeck, of Clarke, Nebraska; five brothers, Thomas, Walter and Charles of Wapello, Louis of Morning Sun and Frank of Iowa City; one sister, Mrs. Mary Wright, of Wapello; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; other close relatives and a host of friends. One sister Mrs. Jennie Longshore of Albert Lea, Minn. Preceded him in death.
