He attained the age of 83 years and 20 days. Albert H. Schmidt was born on a farm near Tea, South Dakota on May 18, 1921, the son of Fredrick William ?Bill? and Minnie (Alberts) Schmidt. On December 20, 1945 he was united in marriage to Jennieve Geiken in Lennox. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill, in 1956, his mother, Minnie in 1971, an infant son, Floyd, in 1951, his son, Allen Schmidt, in 1999, and his daughter, Brenda Schmidt, in March of this year. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Jen; two sons, Donald Schmidt and his wife, Patty, and Daniel Schmidt; one daughter, Sherry Sorensen and her husband, Bob; a daughter-in-law, Lil Schmidt, all of Sioux Falls; nine grandchildren, including two that Albert and Jen raised, Michael Oines and David Oines and his special friend, Jessica, also, Brandi Goldapp and her husband, Steve, Jason Schmidt and his wife, Anna, Troy Sorensen and his wife, Kim, Todd Sorensen and his wife, Pam, Tim Sorsensen and his wife, colleen, Michelle Sorensen and her husband, Mike Johnson and Keri Schmidt; 18 great-grandchildren; foster children, Monica Jack and Tracy Gage, one brother, John Schmidt of Sioux Falls; plus a host of other relatives and friends.
