Friday, June 10, 1977 The Columbus Telegram Columbus, NE Pg #13 LUX – Albert J. Lux, 74, Shelby, died today at Butler County Hospital, David City, after a two-month illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 9:30a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Church, Shelby, with Rev. Anthony Trausch officiating. Burial will be in Shelby Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 3-9 p.m. Saturday and 1-9 p.m. Sunday at Kepner-Roberts Funeral Home, Osceola. A 4 p.m. rosary Sunday will also be at Kepner-Roberts. He was born at Shelby on April 30, 1903, to Charles and Minnie (Schlesinger) Lux. He married Rose Gabel. The lived near Shelby, where Mr. Lux farmed. Survivors include his wife, Rose, Shelby; a son, David, Surprise; a brother, Karl; and two sisters, Grace and Wilma all of Shelby; three grandchildren and great grand-children. Mr. Lux was preceded in death by his parents. Editor's notes: David A. Lux (FAGrave Memorial # 104559519) was raised by his Aunt Ethel G. (Bierle) Lux, Adair and Albert J. Lux after the death of his mother Mabel (Hauer) Beierle (FAGrave Memorial #18422436) from tuberculosis. Father Vern M. Beierle (FAGrave Memorial #18422436). **Additional information submitted by Jan C , Contributor #49563145: Albert was married three times. Married to Ethel by the time of the 1930 census, and had a step son, 2-yr-old David by the time of the 1940 census. Also show's Ethel's mom, Anna (Fiedler) Beierle living with them. After his divorce, he married widow Lois (Blevins) Carpenter in 1952. They were married until the time of her death in April of 1968. So he would have married Rose sometime after that. For the sake of documentation, Lois was my husband's grandmother via her first marriage to Charles Carpenter. My husband fondly remembers visiting Al and Rose after the death of his grandmother.
