Description	:	Albert J. ("Whitey") Eggink, 42, longtime Sioux City resident, died Saturday at a Sioux Falls hospital, where he was a patient for nine days. Mr. Eggink was born February 26, 1919, at Orange City, Ia. He moved to Sioux City with his parents at the age of 6. He married Anita Anderson on November 12, 1955, at Elk Point. Read More	Albert J. ("Whitey") Eggink, 42, longtime Sioux City resident, died Saturday at a Sioux Falls hospital, where he was a patient for nine days. Mr. Eggink was born February 26, 1919, at Orange City, Ia. He moved to Sioux City with his parents at the age of 6. He married Anita Anderson on November 12, 1955, at Elk Point. He was senior vice commander of Monahan post 64, American Legion and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a veteran of world war 2 and the Korean war, serving in the navy. He was employed by Swift & Co. for 19 years and was a steamfitter. He was a member of the First Methodist church. Survivors include the widow, Anita; two sons, David of Sioux City, and John, stationed at Long Beach, Cal., with the navy; a stepson, Jack Lee Twyford of Sioux City; a stepdaughter, Judith Ann Twyford of Sioux City; his mother, Mrs. Marie Eggink of Sioux City; two brothers, John and Nicholas, both of Sioux City, and three sisters, Mrs. Viola Schuttpelz and Mrs. Verna Ruth DeWall, both of Sioux City, and Mrs. Norman Hocking, living in Turkey. The body will be brought to the Anderson funeral home. The Sioux City Journal, June 12, 1960 ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Anderson funeral home chapel for Albert J. ("Whitey") Eggink, 42, who died Saturday at a Sioux Falls hospital. Burial will be in Memorial park cemetery. Rev. William Sandstrom, pastor of First Covenant church, will officiate. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct military rites at the grave. Mr. Eggink was senior vice commander of Laurens C. Shull post 580, V. F. W. Pallbearers will be Stanley Dorr, Clarence Friggy, Art Huser, Don Wisner, Herman Rohr and E. Vandergrift. The Sioux City Journal, June 14, 1960
