He enjoyed fishing, gardening and operating amateur radio. He enjoyed meeting people and especially enjoyed helping his neighbors. He built snowblowers and mechanical models. A Case steam tractor won many blue ribbons at the Midland Empire Fair. Mr. Johnson, 81, of 1903 Dogwood Lane, died Monday in St. Vincent Hospital of natural causes. Born in Red Lodge, a son of Gust and Hilda Johnson, he attended Upper Whitebird schools. On Dec. 4, 1932, he married Goldie B. Kelsey in Red Lodge. He and his wife traveled extensively throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico and overseas to Korea and Europe. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Marion (Evelyn) Langton of Scappoose, OR; a son, Robert W. of Bartlesville, OK; a brother, Eino J. of Safford, AZ; four grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Wesleyan Church with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge.
