Description	:	Albert Leroy "Doc" Kitzmann, 73, of Thornburg, died Tues., April 9, 2002, at the Grinnell Regional Health Center. He was born west of What Cheer on May 6, 1928, the son of Albert R. and Zella (Emery) Kitzmann. He attended the Beeman country school and then later the Gibson High School. He then served in the army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany as a lineman in the 321st Signal Battalion. Upon returning from the service in 1952 he began working construction. He was then united in marriage on May 2, 1953 to Charlotte Pike at the... Read More	Albert Leroy "Doc" Kitzmann, 73, of Thornburg, died Tues., April 9, 2002, at the Grinnell Regional Health Center. He was born west of What Cheer on May 6, 1928, the son of Albert R. and Zella (Emery) Kitzmann. He attended the Beeman country school and then later the Gibson High School. He then served in the army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany as a lineman in the 321st Signal Battalion. Upon returning from the service in 1952 he began working construction. He was then united in marriage on May 2, 1953 to Charlotte Pike at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. In 1954 he started farming in the What Cheer and Gibson areas and did so until retirement. He was a past master of the Universe Lodge #242, a 32 degree mason, a past patron of the Universe Chapter #105 O.E.S., a member of the Delta American Legion and a member of the Gibson Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Candy; three sons, David, Allen and Les; two brothers, Harvey and John; three sisters, Pauline Hazen, Alberta Bos and Enid Phillips; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Andrew; two brothers, Dewayne and Emery; and a sister, Dorothy Churchill. Funeral services were held Fri., April 12, at the Harden Funeral Chapel in What Cheer with the Rev. Jim Stout of the Thornburg Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Garrett Cemetery near Delta with full military honors given by the Keswick and Delta American Legions. Clipping from unknown newspaper
