Read More	ONLINE OBITUARY: "Albert Lively, age 79, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on July 27, 1941 in Anderson County and has been a resident of Oliver Springs since 1963. Albert is a member of Friendly Welcome Baptist Church and is a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from the K-25 plant in Oak Ridge after working 27 years in security and as an operator. He had also worked 12 years at the Magnet Hosiery Mill in Clinton. "Albert is preceded in death by his parents Vester and Rosie Lively; brother, Ray Lively, mother-in-law, Mellie Lee Bunch; and great-grandson, Brantley Davis. "He is survived by his wife of 58 years Mildred and daughters and their spouses; Sharel and Gene Davis and Amy and Keith Miller. Grandchildren, Curtis (Rachelle) Davis of DeRidder, LA, Shelby (Matt) Vann of Wartburg, Chanse (Nicole) Davis of Oliver Springs, Emma (Michael) Raines of Clinton, Destany Davis of Kernersville, NC, Savannah Davis of Knoxville, Luke (Miya) Miller of Oliver Springs. "The family would like to thank Avalon Hospice, The Home Care Company, and especially Don Straut whom was his nurse from the beginning and took extra special care of Albert. "In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations for Parkinson's Research to www.michaeljfox.org/donation[.] "The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 between the hours of 5:00-7:00 pm at Premier Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Friendly Welcome Baptist Church in Frost Bottom. Graveside service will follow funeral service in the Frost Bottom Cemetery [Seiber-Lively]. "Premier Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs is honored to serve the Lively family. A message of condolence may be left for the family at www.sharpfh.com[.]" HIS EULOGY: I read the following eulogy at his funeral (it was prepared by his daughters): "Born on July 27, 1941, to Vester and Rosie (Phillips) Lively in a log cabin on the Pilot Mountain on New River. The oldest of 12 children. In 1946 I moved to the "Old Place" on Graves Gap Mountain. Later on, we moved from the Old Place to the house that we remember best. Me and Alvin started at Flat Woods school in the fall of 1947 for grades 1-8 and Lake City High for two years. I did not graduate high school but joined the Army instead. "I joined the U.S. Army January 19, 1960, and was sent to Fort Jackson in South Carolina. Later was moved to Fort Bragg, NC, for Airborne school where I earned my Paratrooper Wings. Was at Fort Bragg until June 1961. While at Fort Bragg I had the privilege of marching in John F. Kennedy's Presidential parade in January 1961. In June 1961 was shipped overseas to Germany where I stayed until my enlistment was up. While in Germany I was selected to attend the non-commissioned officers' school where I graduated in the top 10% of my class and was promoted to rank of Sergeant and received a letter of Commendation. My enlistment was during the height of the Cold War, building of the Berlin Wall, and the Cuban Missile Crisis. "I was discharged on December 31, 1962. "After I came home, I married Mildred Bunch on February 8, 1963, at Friendly Welcome Baptist Church. We built a life in Frost Bottom and had two daughters, Sharel Ann and Amy Sue. Over the years I worked for the County Road department; 3 years for the U.S. Army; 12 years for Magnet Mills in Clinton, TN; and 23 years for numerous contractors at the K-25 Site in Oak Ridge. "As a member of Friendly Welcome Baptist Church in the Frost Bottom community for over 50 years, I was a deacon and taught Sunday School until my health declined. It is my sincere hope and prayer that what I taught helped others to see the absolute need of accepting Christ into their life. "I am preceded in death by my parents Vester and Rosie Lively; my brother, Ray Lively; my mother-in-law, Mellie Lee Bunch; and my great-grandson, Brantley Davis. "I am survived by my wife of 58 years Mildred and my daughters and their spouses: Sharel and Gene Davis and Amy and Keith Miller.
