Pennington, 81, former resident of Moravia and vicinity, died Sept 17 (sic) at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines after an illness of two years. Harry Herline, pastor, officiating. The body was brought to Moravia for burial and a short service was held at the grave. Pennington was born in Centerville July 7, 1861, and was married Oct. 20, 1891 to Miss Mary Ann Coffin. He is survived by two sons, Roscoe of Moravia and Elmer at home, and a daughter, Kathryn, at home. Another daughter, Bernice, died in infancy. He had lived in Des Moines about 30 years. A granddaughter, Mrs. Herb Boblenz, of Melrose, and two sisters, three-half sister and two half brothers also survive. Those accompanying the body here from Des Moines were Elmer Pennington, Mrs. Elmer Pritchard and daughter, Mildred, Mrs. Frank Bird, Mrs Elmer Shutts, Mrs. Lottis Owens, A. S. Garland, and the Rev. Mr. Herline, of Des Moines; Mrs. Jessie Fleming of Fremont, Neb., and Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Pennington and Mrs. Charles Coffin of Moravia.
