The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Valley City, with the Rev. Paul Huso and the Rev. Mark Ostgarden officiating. Interment will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Valley City. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until noon Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Albert Berg, known as “Slim”, was born Sept. 10, 1910 at Ross, the son of Edward C. and Mary (Ames) Berg. He lived for a time and was baptized at Stanley. His mother died when he was quite young and he came with his father to Valley City where he grew up. He married Olga Olufson on July 30, 1937 at the Valley City Auditorium. The couple made their home and farmed near Litchville until 1957 when they returned to Valley City. He was employed by Harrington Livestock and was in charge of the buildings and maintenance for the North Dakota Winter Show for many years and was also employed as a carpenter for Bill Anderson. He was a member of the Barnes County Senior Citizens and played in their “Kitchven Band.” He just recently celebrated his 90th birthday. Survivors are a son Darrell Berg and companion Judy Johnson, Valley City, two daughters, Mary Ann (Duane) Moderow, Buffalo, and Carol (Gary) Dahl, Oriska, a brother, Norman Myking, Rialto, Calif., a sister Jean Wallace, Santa Barbara, Calif., six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
