Mr. Nase died Monday, March 12, 2007, at the Avera McKennan Hospice Unit, Sioux Falls. He was born Jan. 27, 1924, at Armour to Otto and Alvina (Anderst) Nase. Mr. Nase died Monday, March 12, 2007, at the Avera McKennan Hospice Unit, Sioux Falls. He was born Jan. 27, 1924, at Armour to Otto and Alvina (Anderst) Nase. He attended rural grade school and began high school in Armour. He was baptized April 6, 1924, and confirmed June 26, 1938,at St. Paul's Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in Armour. In 1941 his family moved to Beresford, where he graduated from Beresford High School in 1942. He helped his father on the farm and also many neighbors during World War II. He married Lucile Bernice Blume Sept. 21, 1947, at Redfield, and they became parents of four children. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this fall. Albert farmed his entire life, specializing in dairying. He was a Grade A dairy farmer and sent many gallons of milk to Land O'Lakes. He was interested in 4-H and was the leader of the Lucky Clover 4-H Club for 19 years. He was always happy to hear from former 4-H club members. He served on the school board for Middleton School District, Davis. He was a member of the Dairy Herd Improvement Asso-ciation (DHIA) for many years. He also served on the Turner Township Board of Supervisors for more than 10 years and was a member of the Turner County Weed Board, serving as chairman for several years. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church since 1942 and served all positions on the council, many of those years as chairman. After he retired and moved to town he spent many hours doing lawn work at the church. He sold his dairy cows in 1988 and the rest of his machinery in February 1992 and retired to Centerville, where he had resided the last 15 years. He served on the Centerville City Council for five years. After retirement he and Lucille went on many trips, including to Alaska, mid-Europe, the East and West Coasts and numerous other locations. They spent winters in Florida, Arizona and McAllen, Texas. He also enjoyed hunting deer and playing cards, especially pinochle. In 1999 he was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome anemia (MDS) and received his first blood transfusion in May 2000 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. In the last seven years he received more than 250 units of blood. He entered the Avera McKennan Hospice Unit in Sioux Falls Feb. 27, 2007,and died March 12, 2007. Survivors include his wife: Lucille, Centerville; two sons: Stanley (Teresa), Hot Springs, and Ricky (fiancee Bonnie), Brookings; two daughters: Mary Lou (Michael) Rahe, Burt, Iowa, and Joann (Rich-ard) Vesole, Bettendorf, Iowa; nine grandchildren: Brandon Nase, Ashley Nase, Jennifer Rahe, Melissa Rahe, Michelle Vesole, Sarah Vesole, Adam Vesole, Zachary Davis and Spencer McCall; one brother: Kenneth (Shirley) Nase, Worthington, Minn.; two sisters: Charlene Johnson, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Eleanor (Dr. A.A.) Nestor, Sarasota, Fla.; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First English Handicap Accessibility Fund or Avera McKennan Hospice. Redfield Press
