On a Handcar The unfortunate men were on a hand car near the station with fellow workers when Charles Bevington, the foreman, called to them about the train. After hearing the warning the crew made an attempt to remove the car from the path of the oncoming train. While performing this service they were struck. Other members of the crew were, William Bevington, Ross Bevington, Frank Yawn, Joe Costanzo, none of whom were injured. Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife and five children. Mr. Seidel was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Seidel. Besides the parents, two sisters, Mrs. Howard Gilmore, of Youngstown, and Mrs. Lester Sitler, of Columbiana, survive. The bodies of the victims were brought here by train and removed to Warrick's Funeral Home and later that day taken back to New Waterford where services were held on Monday." NOTE: Albert Seidel is the son of George Seidel and Emma Wagner. Emma is my 3rd cousin through the Beight line.
