Description	:	Alberta K. Welty, 92, of Kearney died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in Kearney with the Rev. Ron Roemmich officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Fremont Memorial Cemetery in Fremont with the Rev. Timothy Gierke officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8:30 p.m. today and prior to services Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. John's Center in Kearney. She was born April 23, 1907, in Arcadia to Charales and Emma (Fredricksen) Jewell. She grew up and attended school in Arcadia and then moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa. On Oct 5, 1927, she married Arthur Welty in Omaha. They lived in Arcadia and then moved to Fremont in 1933. They moved to North Bend in 1936 and farmed until 1951. They moved to Kearney in 1952. Her husband died in 1959. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kearney and the Naomi Rebekah Lodge of Kearney. She enjoyed crafts and collecting dolls and stuffed bears. Survivors include her daughters, Norma O'Connor, Kearney, Dorothy Poggensee, Fremont, and Gloria Thege, North Bend; son, Donald, Denver; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
