Description	:	Albina M. White was born 23 December 1820 at Roane County, Tennessee to Calvin and Martha (Wiley) White. She was one of nine children; the others were Eliza Ann, who married Wheaten Chase; William A., who married Lucinda Hesser; Wiley F., who married Eliza Jane Thomas; Mary R., who married H. S. Lawrence; Martha Ellen, who married Alexander McCleary and John R. Watson; Thomas Columbus who married Mary Frances Jack; and John Calvin, who married Mary Adeline Genson. White was born 23 December 1820 at Roane County, Tennessee to Calvin and Martha (Wiley) White. The name of another brother is not known. About 1828 Albina moved with her family to Indiana, then back to Tennessee for 4 1/2 years. By 1835 they were in Illinois, where Calvin White owned land in Rock Island County across the river from Muscatine, Iowa. Albina met Benjamin F. Palmer, son of William and Jane (Gill) Palmer, and they were married 20 November 1836 near Oquawka, Illinois. They were the parents of 12 children: Daniel, who married Sophia Morris and Sarah (Dill) Morris; William, who married Cora Sinclair; John C., who married Calista Chase, Lena Hallenbeck, and Emily (Pierce) Mikesell; Martha, who married William Malcom and Addison F. Brown; Sarah Jane, who married Jonathan Jackson Hall; Eliza Albina, who married Duncan D. Malcom; Joshua, who married Amanda Bunnell; Ephraim, who married Eliza Starts; and Margaret, who married Thomas W. Johnson. Three children, Benjamin, Mary, and Elizabeth, died young. Benjamin and Albina lived on a farm in Rock Island County until 1852, when they moved to Kanesville (today Council Bluffs), Iowa. After a year there they moved to Big Grove (today Oakland), Iowa. They remained there for about 10 years, then moved to a farm in Knox Township near Avoca. Benjamin died there on 6 November 1881. Albina sold the farm and moved with several of her children to Woodbury County, Iowa. She died 24 December 1906 and is buried at Bethel Cemetery, Peiro. She had no stone until one was placed there be descendants in 1996.
