Description	:	Son of James W. & Harriet Stone Coggins; widower of Elsie Cox Coggins His obituary stated he died in a Greenville hospital from injuries sustained in a fall several days earlier in his home in Travelers Rest. His death certificate indicated he fell off his porch on June 12th, and broke numerous bones throughout his body. He was a native of a Saluda, NC and had lived most of his life in the northern part of Greenville County, and was a member of Cox Chapel Baptist Church. He was a native of a Saluda, NC and had lived most of his life in the northern part of Greenville County, and was a member of Cox Chapel Baptist Church. He was survived by two sons, James Robert Coggins and Larkin Edward Coggins, both of Travelers Rest; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Tom Coggins and Luther Coggins, both of East Flat Rock, NC, Earl Coggins of Spartanburg, and Lee Coggins of Marietta. Funeral services: Friday, June 18, 1954, Cox Chapel Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Gene Henson and Rev. Homer Couch. Burial: Cox Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Marshall Johnson, W.C. Coggins, Bruce Nease, Lynn Bell, Jasper Tripp, and Garfield Ward. Honorary escort: Jessie Goodwin, William Goodwin, Arthur Turner, B.R. Holt, Dewey Bramlett, Earnest Goodwin, Dock Hart and Arthur Cox. As was still the custom of the day, his remains were returned to the family home for visitation until the time of the funeral. This was to the home of his son, Larkin Collins, in Travelers Rest.
