She was born on Aug. 20, 1895, in Dayton, Wash., to Francis E. and Lydia Ann (Hair) Bonwell. She was the granddaughter of early day pioneers. The Bonwells and Hairs arrived in Washington Territory in the early 1880s. She moved with her family to the Big Bend area when a small child. Case, 100, a longtime resident of Waterville, died on Friday, May 10, 1996, at Central Washington Hospital. She was born on Aug. 20, 1895, in Dayton, Wash., to Francis E. and Lydia Ann (Hair) Bonwell. She was the granddaughter of early day pioneers. The Bonwells and Hairs arrived in Washington Territory in the early 1880s. She moved with her family to the Big Bend area when a small child. She resided much of her life in the Withrow, Douglas, Waterville, Chelan and Orondo areas. She married Roland Grey Case on April 10, 1917, in Waterville. They moved to Spokane in 1942. Her husband died in 1965. In 1967, Mrs. Case moved back to Waterville, next door to her daughter and son-in-law, Arlene and Glen Whitehall, her principal caregivers. In October 1995, she moved to Hearthstone Cottage of East Wenatchee. Survivors include her four sons, Norman Case of Shady Cove, Ore., Donald Case of Okanogan, John Case of Tacoma and Gale Case of Simi Valley, Calif.; her two daughters, Arlene Whitehall of Waterville and Berniece Cain of Malott; her two sisters, Elsie Whitehall Ward of Omak and Eunice Riley of Chelan; her brother Eugene Bonwell of East Wenatchee; her 15 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 19 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and her four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, one son, one grandson, one granddaughter, one great-grandson, five brothers and five sisters.
