She is also Fanny "Hawks" on a different son's marriage record in Iowa) Alden married Maud Ullery on 23 Aug 1899 in Otoe co, NE. They farmed in Otoe county and then moved to Spencer, NE before 1910. Here, Alden worked as a brick mason, garage mechanic and for many years was a rural postal carrier. Alden and Maud had nine children: Alton, Neva Peters, Blanche Crisp, Bernice Hooker, Ruth Havranek & Ralph (twins), Leona Semon, Harold and one that died 1900-1910. The Spencer Advocate (NE); 12 Sep 1957 Alden A. Barden who had been a resident of Spencer and community for more than fifty years passed away suddenly Wednesday morning following a severe heart attack. Mr. Barden was a retired rural mail carrier and stone mason, and until a few years ago was active in the building trade. Funeral services for Mr. Barden will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. from the Spencer Community Hall with the Rev. Arthur Crisp of Lincoln, a son-in-law officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery at Spencer with the Jones Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Alden A. Barden was born on August 21st, 1878 at Springfield, Ill., the son of Alden A. and Fannie Dunlap Barden. [sic] He grew up around Springfield and came to Boyd county over 50 years ago. When he first came to Spencer he started farming, from there he went to masonry work, and helped build a good many of the buildings in Spencer, that are standing today. He was married, and his wife preceded him in death. Born to this union were five daughters and one son. Survivors include: five daughters, Mrs. Neva Peters, Yutan, Neb., Mrs. Blanche Crisp of Lincoln, Mrs. Bernice M. Hoker, Ainsworth, Mrs. Ruth Havaranek, Ponca; Mrs. Leona Seaman of Grand Island; one son, Harold of Tecumseh; 22 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Colbert, Lincoln, and Mrs. Milton Kilbourne of Omaha.
