She graduated from Webster High School. On May 23, 1942, she married Leo Monteith at Lily, South Dakota. The Monteiths lived in Brookings, where Aldred was a sales representative for Stanley Home Products. Leo died March 25, 1999. Aldred was a member of First Lutheran Church in Brookings where she was an officer in First Lutheran Church Women. She also was a member of the Garden Club Survivors include five brothers: Marvid Peterson of Webster, South Dakota, Hiram Peterson of Mora, Minnesota, Almond (Marlys) Peterson of Cottonwood, Arizona, Voyle Peterson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Kennard (Marie) Peterson of Tacoma, Washington; and a sister, Henrietta (Ray) Anderson of Henderson, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers: Burnell, Orville, Clinton, and Curtis; and two sisters: Eunice Stadsklev and Doreen Hubert.
