Description	:	Aleen LaVonne Lister, 91, of Ottumwa, formerly of Davis County, died Sept. 15, 2010, at the Good Smaritan Society in Ottumwa. She was born April 29, 1919, in Davis County to Howard and Edna McManis Cook. She married Hubert Vern Lister Jan. 21, 1939, in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death Jan. 7, 1997. Aleen was an active member of the Stiles Christian Church teaching Sunday School classes, as well as a Vacation Bible School Leader. Read More	Aleen LaVonne Lister, 91, of Ottumwa, formerly of Davis County, died Sept. 15, 2010, at the Good Smaritan Society in Ottumwa. She was born April 29, 1919, in Davis County to Howard and Edna McManis Cook. She married Hubert Vern Lister Jan. 21, 1939, in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death Jan. 7, 1997. Aleen was an active member of the Stiles Christian Church teaching Sunday School classes, as well as a Vacation Bible School Leader. She helped start the IAMO Church Camp and volunteered there for several years. She was also an adult leader of the Little Women 4-H Club. Aleen was a homemaker and a farmwife. She greatly enjoyed gardening, embroidery, reading, dancing, board games and of course, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Terry(Mary)Lister of Bloomfield; two daughters, Diana(Jaime)Andrade of Evergreen, Colo., and Betty Lanore(Jerry)Hughes of Pinellas Park, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Curtis Cook; and two sisters, Viola Wardlow and Darlene Barkley. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Monday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield; Kramer Smith and Fred Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Visitation will begin after 9am Sunday with the family present to greet friends from 5:30-7pm Sunday evening at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to IAMO Church Camp.
