She was preceded in death by her husband Charles [Bill] Jones in 1994 and a sister, Esther Schroeder. She was born June 10, 1914, southwest of Elwood, to Wellington and Alice [Leggott] Hall. She was baptized the day she was born at the First United Methodist Church at Elwood. She attended the Ash Grove rural school and later graduated from Elwood High School in 1933. On April 16, 1949 she married Charles "Bill" W. Jones. The couple lived in San Diego, Calif., as well as in Texas for a number of years before returning to Nebraska in 1988. The couple later moved to Elwood. In 2005 she moved to Christian Homes of Holdrege where she resided until her death. During her lifetime, she was employed in various occupations. Her family most fondly remembers her working as a technician in an aircraft factory during the war; icing and decorating cakes in a San Diego bakery, as well as making candy for Russell Stover in Lincoln. Her hobbies included playing piano and crocheting. A memorial has been established in her memory.
